Abstract

The utilization of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in primary school teaching is rapidly evolving, offering innovative opportunities to enhance learning quality. This study aims to analyze research trends related to AI in primary education using a bibliometric approach. 322 documents were employed from the Lens.org database from 2020 to 2025, focusing on publications discussing the application of AI in primary school learning. The analysis was conducted to identify research trends on AI utilization in primary education. The findings indicate a significant increase in the number of publications related to AI in primary education since 2020, peaking in 2024. Furthermore, research is predominantly conducted in developed countries, while studies in developing nations, including Indonesia, remain limited. The analysis also reveals that the most frequently discussed disciplines in this field are psychology, mathematics education, computer science, and educational technology. These findings can serve as a reference for relevant stakeholders in formulating policies and guiding the development of AI implementation in primary school education.
