Abstract

Students often only receive learning material through what the teacher says without knowing it directly. This study aims to determine and analyze the effect of the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) learning model on the thematic learning outcomes of fourth grade students of Islamic Elementary School Insan Kamil Tuban. This research is a quantitative research with an experimental research approach. The research design used was a pre-test and post-test control group design. The population in this study were fourth grade students at the Insan Kamil Islamic Elementary School, while the samples in this study were 25 grade IV B students as the control class and 25 grade IV C students as the experimental class in the 2019/2020 semester II academic year. Data collection techniques were carried out using tests. The data obtained in this study were then analyzed using the average gain (N-gain) rule. The results showed that the N-gain value for the control class was 0.279 and the experimental class was -0.463. It can be concluded that there is no effect of thematic learning outcomes using the CTL learning model on fourth grade students of Islamic Elementary School Insan Kamil Tuban.
